Part 1: Join Tony and Shippa as they start the New Year off with a Han…no, not the one from Star Wars, but Han the band from Sydney. Chatting to Michael Harris, the band’s founder and main man, the topics range from the intergalactic origin of the name, to their the musical style, which does not stick to any particular genre, and to the heartbreak which inspired some of Michael’s greatest works. You’ll be entertained by the Freudian journey taken by all participants…what was the name of that band again, Michael?

Part 2: Tony and Shippa get stuck into some new submissions from up and coming artists in the second half of the show. We focus on the music of Katie Crutchfield and also present part 1 of my interview with Justin Stokes, founder of the Melbourne band Wilding'. 2025 Music from Esther Rose, Pictoria Vark. Greet Death, Yumi Zouma, caroline, Wednesday, SG Goodman, Great Grandpa, Saint Etienne, Snocaps, Kevin Morby, Patterson Hood, Sunscreen and Youth Lagoon. I spin a fave little known track from 2019 by The Sunday League and also throw in a New Wave classic from 1979 from Squeeze.

Wilding started as the musical project of Liverpool UK born Justin Stokes, who has lived the past 20 years in Australia, currently in Melbourne.  They have recently evolved into a band with a sound that grabs your attention immediately with an urgency and tight rhythm section symbolic of late 70s UK new wave / post-punk bands like UK Squeeze and Ian Dury and the Blockheads. 

In 2025 Wilding released the catchy track ‘I Wish I Was Wrong (As Usual)’. which made it into my Retrospective. It followed on from their excellent 2024 album ‘Whatever I Am’ with tracks  like ‘Logical Steve’ and ‘I Am’ entertaining Indigo FM listeners over the past 18 months. 

Justin joined me late 2025 for a chat about his band, their 2025 and plans for 2026.

Steve Winwood makes his first appearance on BFRH after recieveing his MBE from King Charles, we also have Johnny Winters first NY appearance on todays show.
